A WhatsApp message score tells you, before you press send, how likely a broadcast is to be read, approved and not reported as spam. AiSender's free WhatsApp message score checks five things out of 100: clarity, personal touch, call to action, spam safety and Meta policy. Aim for 80 or more before sending to a large list.
Why bother? Every block or report lowers your number's quality rating, and a low rating stops your messaging limit from growing. One careless broadcast can undo weeks of good sending.
The five checks, and what each one looks for
| Check | Points | What it looks for |
|---|---|---|
| Clarity | 20 | A clear first line, sensible length, short paragraphs |
| Personal touch | 15 | The customer's name or a detail that shows you know them |
| Call to action | 20 | One clear next step: a button, link or reply |
| Spam safety | 25 | No ALL CAPS, no "!!!", no pushy money words, few emojis |
| Meta policy | 20 | Within 1,024 characters, correct variables, an opt-out line, the right category |
Clarity: say it in the first line
Most people read only the preview. "Your order #1043 is out for delivery" works. "Dear valued customer, greetings from our team" wastes the only line they see. Keep the whole message under about 500 characters and break it into two or three short paragraphs.
Personal touch: use their name
A variable like {{1}} for the first name is the simplest way to show the message is meant for them. Mentioning what they bought or booked is even better.
Call to action: one clear step
Ask for one thing: "Reply YES to book", "Tap Shop now" or "Pay with this link". Three links and two phone numbers in one message confuse people and look like spam.
Spam safety: write like a person
These patterns get messages reported:
- WHOLE WORDS IN CAPITALS
- Strings of exclamation marks or more than four emojis
- "Guaranteed", "100% free", "earn money", "click here now", "limited time only!!!"
- Pressure with no real reason ("Last chance!!! Hurry!!!")
Meta policy: the rules that get templates rejected
- Templates are limited to 1,024 characters.
- Variables cannot sit at the very start or end of the message, and they cannot be next to each other.
- Marketing messages should tell people how to stop receiving them, such as "Reply STOP to unsubscribe".
- A Utility template must be about an order, account or booking. Add an offer and Meta treats it as Marketing.
- Authentication (OTP) templates follow a fixed format, without links, URLs or emojis.
- Some topics are restricted, such as alcohol, tobacco, gambling, weapons and adult content.
Before and after: one message, two scores
Before (scores under 40):
HURRY!!! 50% OFF ON EVERYTHING 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 LIMITED TIME ONLY!!! CLICK HERE NOW: bit.ly/x1
No name, ALL CAPS, emoji chain, pressure words, a shortened link and no way to opt out.
After (scores above 80):
Hi {{1}}, our Diwali sale is live: 50% off on kurtas and sarees till Sunday.
Tap Shop now to see the collection. 🪔
Reply STOP to stop offers.
Same offer. It now has a name, a clear first line, one action and an opt-out.
Score bands
| Score | What it means |
|---|---|
| 80–100 | Ready to send |
| 60–79 | Good, with a few fixes |
| 40–59 | Needs work before a big send |
| Under 40 | High risk of rejection, blocks or reports |
Messages with very weak spam safety, a restricted topic or more than 1,024 characters are capped at 39, however good the rest is.
A good score is not the whole story
The score checks the words. Results also depend on who you send to and how often:
- Send only to people who opted in. See WhatsApp opt-in best practices.
- Do not send the same offer to the whole list every day.
- Watch your quality rating after each broadcast. See WhatsApp quality rating and blocked numbers.
- Start with a smaller batch, check replies and blocks, then send the rest.
FAQ
Is the WhatsApp message score free?
Yes. The checker runs in your browser, needs no sign-up and does not store your message.
Will a score of 100 guarantee Meta approves my template?
No. The score checks common rejection and spam patterns, but Meta reviews every template and can still reject it. A high score makes approval and good results much more likely.
What score should I aim for?
80 or more for a broadcast to a large list. Between 60 and 79 is fine for small, friendly lists, but fix the suggestions first if you can.
Does the score work for Hindi and Hinglish messages?
Yes. Length, caps, emojis, links, variables and the opt-out line are checked in any language. Spam word checks look for common English phrases, so also read a Hindi message once yourself for pushy wording.
